Job description
Strong Analytics is seeking Natural Language Processing (NLP) engineers to help research, develop, and deploy NLP-based solutions for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500s. NLP Engineers are core contributors at Strong, and are able to work end-to-end on a variety of projects involving text classification, dependency parsing, sentiment analysis, and much more. The ideal candidate has expertise in Python, has experience within multi-modal and multilingual contexts, and has been able to work on NLP solutions from concept to production.

This role thus requires a deep expertise in applying state-of-the-art NLP techniques to real-world problems where data must be gathered, transformed, cleaned, integrated into a larger architecture, and deployed.
Responsibilities
Work with other machine learning scientists and engineers to develop custom NLP solutions for a variety of industries and use cases
Build machine learning pipelines from ideation up through prototyping, development, and deployment
Develop, train, and validate machine learning algorithms
Apply SoTA modeling techniques in multi-lingual and multi-modal contexts
Help create generalized solutions out of specific use cases
Help identify areas of opportunity and improvement within projects
Research new techniques and technologies in the NLP space and evaluate their potential for business use cases
Collaborate in a fully remote, Agile-like environment using tools like Slack and Git (with a lot of uninterrupted development time)

Requirements
Applicants must reside in either the US or Canada. All applicants will be considered based on their experience and demonstrated skill/aptitude, not formal education. Candidates will be evaluated based on their experience in the following areas (though no one is expected to be an expert in all of these):
Experience in NLP feature engineering and modeling (e.g., text classification, entity recognition, dependency parsing)
Experience with SoTA modeling techniques, such as transformers (e.g., BERT, GPT)
Experience in applying NLP in multi-lingual and multi-modal contexts
Experience taking an NLP project from concept to production
Expertise with Python
Building deep neural networks with modern tools, such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
Building, testing, and deploying NLP-based solutions
Collaborating via Git
