Bryan McCann, co-founder and CTO, is a scientist and philosopher who led natural language processing teams at Salesforce after completing his Master's in C.S. at Stanford. Job description
We are hiring a world-class team of software engineers to architect, implement, and deploy a new search engine.
While you can execute on implementation and experimentation independently, you thrive in collaborative environments, can integrate feedback from active users into your own vision for the product, and can work with designers and engineers to bring your vision to You.com.
Technically
You have experience developing industry-leading index/search systems with low latency and high throughput
Experience building ranking systems and familiarity with industry-standard ranking metrics
Experience with search systems such as ElasticSearch, Solr, or Lucene
Experience with embedding-based methods that leverage frameworks such as FAISS
You can work on the entire machine learning pipeline from data cleaning, data processing to ML models building and serving
You have a knack for training and tuning neural systems and non-neural systems to get the best of both
Familiarity with major deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
You want to write high quality code and build a world-class engineering team
You are electrified by the possibilities and challenges of rapidly shipping and iterating on user facing code and building a consumer application with high public visibility

We're a remote-first company, but work hours are generally within the Pacific Timezone (7 hours behind UTC).
