Have you ever wondered what happens to all those research papers, theses, and scientific literature produced at universities over the years? We did too! This is why we created IGOR^AI, our AI-powered technology & innovation search engine that finds solutions and innovations from millions of scientific publications, patents & web pages. To make IGOR^AI more knowledgeable, we are looking for a Senior Research Software Engineer NLP/AI.
Your role
Every day, our search engine IGOR^AI is used to find technologies to accelerate innovation at hundreds of companies. As a Senior Research Software Engineer, you will work on challenging R&D projects about information retrieval using NLP and AI techniques. The projects focus on crafting immense knowledge bases that consist of thousands of technologies and connected knowledge. You will mine this knowledge from millions of textual documents from science, patents, and web-based data. With this knowledge base, R&D professionals will shorten the time to find technologies & technical information in their innovation projects.
Aside from R&D projects, you collaborate with our software engineers to create use cases for IGOR^AI from your developed models. And see – firsthand – how your work is used to speed up the process of innovation at our clients, such as ASML, Engie, BMW, and Heineken.
In your day-to-day work, you will:
Develop and improve information extraction models for IGOR^AI and uncover the hidden treasures in vast amounts of textual data.
Invent ways to extract and visualize innovation knowledge using state-of-the-art technologies.
Share your experience with the IGOR^AI research team and help each other grow.
Be an essential part of the future success of the IGOR^AI search engine.
Work in close collaboration with technology scouts to co-create IGOR^AI.
Job requirements
MSc/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Human Language Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant fields.
You have 6 years of experience in designing algorithms and models in the area of NLP.
Ability to communicate and discuss technical progress with a cross-functional team.
You have experience in building models in Tensorflow, PyTorch, or Keras.
Excellent coding skills in Python.
Experience with transformer models such as BERT.
Fluent in English.
